VIDEO: An annual event that feeds firefighters in memory of a Tri-Cities boy who passed away has entered its tenth year.
Weston Keeton passed away on March 23, 2014 at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia after receiving a heart and lung transplant. Weston loved firefighters and dreamt of becoming one.
While in the hospital, Philadelphia firefighters visited him, and the Kingsport Fire Department gave Weston a fireman’s funeral after his death. Weston’s family began Feed the Fire in his honor. The event provides firefighters with meals and snacks through donations.
“It’s been such a good thing for our family and for our kids to see the legacy that Weston has left behind of goodness and kindness and generosity,” said Julie Keeton, Weston’s mother.
