VIDEO: A mobile home in Humphreys County is considered a total loss after a massive fire broke out Monday night, according to Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis.
Video, taken by Davis, showed flames shooting from the home around 9 p.m.
The homeowners had arrived Monday night to find smoke filling their house on Enochs Road. Firefighters responded quickly with tanks of water, but by the time the fire was out, the home was destroyed.
“The frustrating part of all of it, we run out of water,” Davis said. ”And that’s not saying anything bad about our firemen, they do a spectacular job, that’s saying they did everything they could.” It’s part of a tough reality for rural communities with a smaller tax base, Davis said.
“Being in a smaller county, it’s a very delicate situation as far as being able to afford some of the equipment, we do the best we can,” Davis said.
