A large structure fire in Morrisville had crews busy early Sunday morning. Residents inside an apartment building on Sterling Valley Rd. say they heard a lightning strike hit the roof. The fire sparked quickly and everyone evacuated. Morrisville Fire Chief Dennis DiGregorio said the flames had a head start on firefighters, but with the assistance of multiple neighboring towns and added manpower, they were able to keep the blaze from spreading to nearby buildings. “When you get a building this size-- the roof collapsed so we had to be only outside-- you need a lot of manpower because they get tired out real quick,” DiGregorio said. The chief said Morrisville rescue was standing by but no injuries were reported.
