A homeowner's small fire in Richland got out of control and caused four homes to lose power. The homeowner says he was burning weeds at his house on Cedar Ave., when a gust of wind carried the fire to neighboring shrubs. He then said the fire spread rapidly to a neighbor's car, home and utility pole. The side of the house was burned but not badly damaged. Richland firefighters arrived on scene around 4:10 p.m. and put the flames out quickly. No one was injured. Richland firefighters say that it is too windy for burning outdoors.
