A man hospitalized after Friday’s early morning mobile home fire has died over the weekend. Our news partner iFIBER ONE News reported the 89-year-old East Wenatchee resident passed away at Central Washington Hospital Saturday due to traumatic injuries suffered during the blaze. A 68-year-old female was also treated for smoke inhalation and later released. Two dogs inside the residence died of smoke inhalation despite the best efforts of Douglas County Fire District 2 personnel to resuscitate the animals via CPR. The house fire occurred just of off SR 28 near Hydro Park. Neighbors alerted the two occupants of the flames, which appear to have started on their porch. Firefighters do not suspect any sort of foul play at this time.
