A South King Fire and Rescue Board commissioner remains hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center, according to the hospital’s media relations.
Commissioner James Fossos was admitted in March due to undisclosed health concerns. As of April 16, Fossos remains at Harborview in satisfactory condition, said Harborview spokesperson Barbara Clements.
South King Fire and Rescue officials declined to comment on Fossos’s condition.
In Fossos’s absence, the board of fire commissioners can function as a quorum of three to continue to approve motions and keep fire district business going as usual, said SKFR Deputy Chief Gordy Goodsell.
Four commissioners are still active on the board.
“We’re anticipating and looking forward to his return,” Goodsell said about Fossos.
Fossos has been on the SKFR board since 2005.
