Fire destroyed a house in South Wenatchee on Monday night.
The blaze broke out around 10 p.m. in the 100 block of Marr St. and prompted the response of crews from Chelan County Fire District No. 1 and Douglas County Fire District No. 2.
“We arrived to a fully-involved, two-story, wood-frame structure fire,” explained Chelan 1 Battalion Chief Cary Neu. “We attacked from a defense structure and basically weren’t sending anyone inside just because of the involvement. We were able to get some water on it relatively quickly and had a relatively quick knock down.”
The house, which was built prior to 1910, was a complete loss. Some property around the structure’s east side was also damaged in the fire.
