PHOTOS: Ammunition was going off inside a burning motorhome that shut down Blewett Pass for almost three hours last Friday. The 40-foot motorhome was being driven by 64-year-old Kim Michael Goodwin, 64, of Chelan. It was pulling a trailer with a quad when it broke down about 10:20 a.m. Goodwin pulled the motorhome to the side of the Highway 97 about six miles north of the summit as it burst into flames. Hewas able to escape uninjured but ammunition inside the motorhome started going off. That lead to the almost immediate closure of the highway in both directions, said Trooper John Bryant of the Washington State Patrol. [ One lane of the highway was reopened about 1 p.m., Bryant said, with flaggers controlling traffic.
