One person was found dead and more than a dozen are displaced after a fire ripped through an apartment building in SeaTac early Saturday morning.
Firefighters were called to the 20000 block of 30th Ave. South just before 6:30 a.m. to find flames coming through the roof, according to Puget Sound Fire officials.
The fire was eventually put out but firefighters say there was fatality in the unit where the fire started.
“Fire appears to have started in the second story, left hand unit,” Captain Joe Root with Puget Sound Fire said.
In total, four units suffered damage in the fire, leaving 18 people temporarily homeless.
“Because the power has been shut off and the smoke and water damage, we’re working with the building owner and a city building official to determine what’s going to happen with the building," Root said.
