Firefighters purchased beds for a family that recently moved to Prosser after learning that their kids were sleeping on the floor. According to the West Benton Fire Association, firefighters received a letter from a child that said his parents had lots of bills to pay, and they could not afford new beds. The letter said that the family just moved from an RV trailer to a bigger home in Prosser. In it, the child asks if firefighters could do the child a "big favor" by getting him a bed. So, the fire department took the opportunity to help out the family in their time of need. "With the help of our friends at Mattress Firm in Richland, we were able to buy twin sized beds and frames for this family," the West Benton Fire Association said. "We are honored to help those in our community when they are in need."
