The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office says an Auburn man went missing at Lake Cle Elum when waves and strong winds knocked him and a friend off their paddleboards on Saturday. Peter Phan, 34, and his friend were knocked into the water at about 2 p.m. A jet skier rescued his friend, who was wearing a life jacket. Phan has not been seen since. He was wearing black swim shorts and no shirt or shoes at the time. He was not wearing a life jacket. KAPP-KVEW has confirmed that he is a volunteer firefighter with Mountain View Fire & Rescue in Auburn. Members of the Sheriff's Marine Unit, Dive Team members from Kittitas and Yakima County and the Search & Rescue K-9 unit suspended their initial search due to weather and darkness. The search resumed Monday morning with additional resources from the King County Sheriff's Office.
