Two camper vehicles were completely destroyed by a fire in Centralia Monday morning, displacing their residents, according to the Riverside Fire Authority.
Crews were dispatched at 7 a.m. to an address in the 700 block of West Carson Road. When firefighters arrived, they found that the fire was not accessible for their trucks because the campers were on the other side of a “deteriorated, unrated bridge,” according to the RFA.
Engines and water tenders stayed behind while firefighters walked to the scene and brush rigs responded.
When firefighters reached the campers, they confirmed that three cars and several stacks of pallets were also on fire, and that the flames were spreading to nearby vegetation. The fire was quickly extinguished.
