PHOTOS: A fire that apparently started just outside a home spread to burning two homes in Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood Tuesday evening.
Firefighters received the original call around 9:45 p.m. for flames coming from the back of a home in the 3200 block of 37th Place South, according to David Cuerpo with Seattle Fire. Flames quickly spread into that home -- then started burning a neighboring house, prompting an upgrade to a second alarm.
Everyone safely escaped from both burning homes and there were no injuries, Cuerpo said.
It took about a half hour to fight the dual blazes. There is extensive damage to both homes, Cuerpo said.
Investigators are still looking into what started the fire.
