State Fire assistance was approved overnight on Tuesday, to assist fire crews working to battle a wildfire off SR 243. The assistance has arrived to assist crews who were working overnight. The mobilization plan allows crews to assemble and deploy fire service personnel, equipment and other resources from around the state as needed. The request to mobilize state fire resources was requested at 12:45 A.M. at the request of Fire Chief Eric Linn, Grant County Fire District 10. According to the State Fire Marshal, Charles, P. Leblanc, the Highway 243 Fire is burning a mix of grass and sage. Grant County Sheriff's Deputies told Action News the terrain has acted as a fuel to the fire, making it difficult for crews to battle.
