One person was taken to the hospital and their pet was killed when a van exploded and burst into flames at a parking lot south of Puyallup, fire officials said.
Firefighters and medics responded to the scene, the Home Depot parking lot near South Hill Mall, at around 2 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of an explosion and fire, said Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. A van was found fully engulfed in flames.
One person sustained minor burns and was taken to a local hospital. A pet inside the van was found dead after the blaze was extinguished.
