Seattle firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire in the Beacon Hill neighborhood early Wednesday morning that displaced people in two homes there. Just after 2 a.m., a garage fire broke out in the 6000 block of 19th Ave. S., just off of I-5 near Swift Ave. South, according to Seattle Fire officials. "I wake up and I look outside my window and it's just... burning flames next door and I knew I had to go wake up everyone in the house to get them out," said Irena Goldstein. Both homes that were affected by the fire were searched and everyone escaped safely with no injuries. "We had our fire alarm disabled because our house flooded a few weeks ago so I don't think we would have had fire alarms going off if I hadn't waken up and gotten everyone out of the house," Goldstein said.
