A man told police he lay in wait outside of his ex-girlfriend’s home before setting it on fire because he was upset they had broken up court documents say. David Weimer was arrested on Tuesday and charged with arson and attempted murder. The victim was not injured by the fire. Weimer and the victim had been dating for a year before they broke up about six weeks ago, according to the victim. She told police that Weimer had messaged her about his feelings for her and his emotional state following their breakup. He called, texted and Facebook messaged her so frequently, the woman said she had blocked Weimer on those applications. Court documents say his tone changed upon finding out the victim was planning a trip to Maui with someone she had dated before her relationship with Weimer.
