PHOTOS: A boy who became trapped 55 feet up in a tall tree at Spokane's Nevada Park was rescued by firefighters Thursday.
The call for help came in around 5:15 p.m. that a 9-year-old boy was stuck high up a tree, reports KXLY-TV. A specialized crew quickly arrived and connected him to a safety harness.
From there, they made their way down, as a crowd watched from below and the little boy ran into his mother's arms as soon as crews released him. He wasn't hurt. It was a good end to a scary situation.
"Talk to your kids, let them know about the hazards like this and the possible consequences," said Ryan Redding with Spokane Fire. "To a 9-year-old boy, this is an attractive nuisance even though it's beautiful to the rest of us, but...serious consequences, potentially."
Firefighters did confirm this was the same child involved in another incident Wednesday where he was climbing things he shouldn't be.
