The City of Hoquiam has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grants program (AFG FY 2018). This grant will fully fund the purchase of two new cardiac monitors in the Hoquiam Fire Department to replace aging cardiac monitors that are critical for providing advanced life support medical services. This means that the newest technology in cardiac monitoring and care will be available on our two, first-out paramedic units, to the citizens of Hoquiam, as well as other areas serviced by the Hoquiam Fire Department. Hoquiam Mayor Jasmine Dickhoff said in a press release, “I would like to personally thank Captain Brandon Ray and the other members of the Hoquiam Fire Department for the drive and determination to put together the award-winning grant which is so vital to the City of Hoquiam and the citizens we serve.”
