A family of four lost everything Saturday morning as their small Lake Lawrence home was engulfed in flames due to an apparent malfunction with the building’s water heater. No injuries were reported. First responders received calls from the homeowner around 7:10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, with reports that their home at 17319 154th Way S.E. caught fire from a spark near the bathroom, according to records from the Southeast Thurston Fire Authority. Firefighters with Southeast Thurston were dispatched and arrived at the scene around 7:25 a.m. They were met with an 800-square-foot single-wide trailer home engulfed in flames. The residents reportedly weren’t able to grab much besides their cats.
