A major arterial in Kent is closed in both directions Tuesday morning by an overturned semi truck, officials said. Police and emergency personnel responded to the scene, at 84th Avenue South and South 224th Street, at around 10 a.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash. An semi riff was found lying on its side with the driver trapped in the cab. The driver was extricated and taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The circumstances leading up to the accident are under investigation. Central Avenue and 84th Avenue are closed at the scene in both directions. Officials say multiple lanes will be blocked for some time as the wreckage is cleared.
