As 2019 comes to an end, the Kennewick Firefighters Union, IAFF Local 1296, reflects back at the calls they responded to through out the year, all 10,333 of them.
Officials with the Union said on Wednesday, they finished the year 10,333 calls for service, but that the total unit responses were much higher.
The Kennewick Fire Fighters Union spans across five stations, with six crews, one dedicated engine, one dedicated medic unit, and four crews that transition between the engine/ ladder and medic unit, according to officials.
In addition to serving the Kennewick area, the Union says they also provide EMS and transpiration services for the Finley area, as well as unincorporated Kennewick within the city limits.
Union officials say crews assist with all hazards fire department calls as well as all of the EMS and ambulance calls where people are taken to the hospital.
