A Rainier man was found dead after his family’s mobile home caught fire early Saturday, Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said. About 12:30 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office and Southeast Thurston Fire Authority responded to a fire on the 900 block of Tipsoo Loop North in Rainier and arrived to find a mobile home engulfed in flames, according to a post on the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page. A couple and their adult son lived at the home, according to Sheriff’s Lt. Ray Brady. The mother and son managed to escape, Brady said, but responders found the father’s body inside the home after the fire was extinguished. Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock told The Olympian Saturday his office was not yet releasing the man’s age or identity. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the cause and manner of his death. The mobile home was destroyed, according to Lt. Brady. The fire was contained to the home and some trees surrounding it.
