Students and educators both toured the station last week.
According to the ISAAC Foundation, safer encounters between first responders and people with special needs are predicated on practice and positive encounters.
Visits to the fire and police stations, in particular, help desensitize people with special needs to law enforcement personnel, as well as prepare them to appropriately interact with them.
