Crews stopped a shed fire from spreading to a nearby home on East Jutte Lane in Elk early Tuesday morning. Flames were reported in the shop next to the house at 3:30 a.m. Homeowners said they do not know how the fire started. The fire caused nearby propane tanks, fireworks and some ammunition to explode. Fire crews were able to put out the fire and began the overhaul stage by axing down the side of the shop. Spokane County Fire District 4 and South Pend Oreille County Fire were on scene.
