A charred home where bodies of a couple were found in the wake of a massive fire is now a crime scene, and their grandson has been arrested as a murder suspect.
Witness called 911 around 8:30 p.m. to report hearing explosions and seeing flames engulf a home in the 18800 block of Bayview Road NWi in Vaughn, according to Pierce County Sheriff's Department officials.
As firefighters worked to douse the flames, they discovered the bodies of a 71-year-old man and 73-year-old woman in the basement. A search of the home uncovered evidence of arson and a murder, detectives said.
The couple's 26-year-old grandson was gone as was one of their vehicles.
Around 4 a.m. Monday, the missing vehicle was spotted outside a Lakewood apartment.
