At least two people were forced out of their home when it caught fire, Tuesday evening.
More than two dozen firefighters responded to reports of a chimney fire along the 700 Block of Bittner Road in Terrace Heights around 6:00 pm.
Crews say when they arrived, flames and heavy smoke were seen coming out of the roof of the home.
"We were actually on our way to some drill training tonight at a local business here and we got a call for a chimney fire," said Trevor Lenseigne, a Battalion Chief with East Valley Fire.
Chief Lenseign says the fire spread through the ceiling before they were able to knock it down in about eight minutes.
"The guys pulled a couple of lines, did a quick transitional attack from the outside, and then we went inside," Lenseign added.
There were no injuries reported, according to fire crews,
The home suffered extensive smoke and water damage.
