3 killed in Yakima crash, police say intoxicants and speed are to blame

Three people have been killed, and a young child severely injured in a Yakima crash Tuesday night. Yakima Police say they responded to the crash at 11:18pm at the intersection of 48th Avenue and W Nob Hill Blvd. According to investigators a 1994 Ford Escort driven by a 20-year-old Yakima man was speeding north on 48th, and ran the red light. A 23-year-old man and 19-year-old man in the Mitsubishi were killed in the crash and pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. Both were passengers. A 20-year-woman passenger in the Mitsubishi was rushed to the hospital where she was also pronounced dead. The Escort crashed into a 2007 Mitsubishi Galant headed east.
