VIDEO/PHOTOS: Four people were killed and four others injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Renton Tuesday afternoon.
According to King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Sgt. Eric White, 911 dispatchers received a report of a multi-vehicle crash on the 19200 block of 140th Avenue SE in Renton just before 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. When deputies and firefighters arrived at the scene, they found four vehicles were involved in the crash.
Puget Sound Fire Division Chief Pat Pawlak said four people were pronounced dead at the scene. Three others were taken to a Seattle area hospital with what Pawlak described as “life-threatening” injuries. A fourth person suffered minor injuries in the crash, Pawlak said.
"We actually did call a mass casualty incident and the reason being as we were looking at the number of patients that we had, it’s the best way to get the needed resources for an incident," Pawlak said.
