A wildfire that started in Utah County Sunday afternoon has forced the evacuation of thousands of homes in the Saratoga Springs area.
As of Monday morning, the "Knolls Fire," has reached 10,000 acres and is 25 percent contained.
The city of Saratoga Springs reports the fire has damaged 12 homes and destroyed one home outside of city limits. It has also destroyed 18 fences and a shed.
According to Utah Fire Info, the fire forced the closure of a section of Highway 68 near the fire's perimeter "due to down powerlines and other hazards."
On Sunday, firefighting crews responded with engines and dozers, but heavy winds prevented aerial firefighting efforts.
