A 4-year-old Racine boy drowned on Monday afternoon in Browns Lake, Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling confirmed. The child went missing at about 5:10 p.m. according to emergency radio transmissions, and was located at about 5:40 p.m. The child was rushed by Burlington Rescue crews to Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington, dispatch reports indicated. Flight for Life was called to the hospital to be ready to transport the child to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa if necessary, but ultimately was not utilized, Town of Burlington Fire Chief Ed Umnus said.
