Planes, helicopters and nonmilitary unmanned aerial systems will test their plans in a search-and-rescue exercise over southwestern Wisconsin Thursday, according to a news release from the Department of Military Affairs. Officials said various agencies will participate in Dyracuse Recreational Park in Adams County, Sauk Prairie Recreational Area and Devil's Lake State Park near Baraboo. The release said the public should not be concerned if they notice an increased presence of aircraft in the sky. "This search-and-rescue exercise provides a great opportunity for various agencies to work together and learn about aerial search-and-rescue capabilities," Baraboo Fire Chief Kevin Stieve said in the release.
