If you've gone shopping in our area, you are probably familiar with Salvation Army bell ringers.
While the donations all go to the same place some of our area's bravest and finest had some fun with the competition Tuesday.
Police and Fire Chiefs from La Crosse and Onalaska faced off in a friendly competition this afternoon. The chiefs were stationed at Walmart locations in their respective communities.
While the chiefs are having fun, they know it's all for a good cause.
"Certainly appreciate just some good, friendly competition. I think certainly on the fire versus the cops, we're better bell-ringers for certain, but between cities, it's all good," said La Crosse Fire Department Chief Ken Gilliam.
