“Without new pediatric medical equipment, EMS staff would be using equipment that is over 15 years old to treat patients during emergencies,” said McMillan Fire Department Captain Lorrie Bauer. That’s why Bauer, a Marshfield Clinic Health System employee, nominated the McMillan Fire Department for the Employee-Driven Corporate Giving grant. Each month Security Health Plan awards a different charity or organization that is nominated by a Marshfield Clinic Health System employee, a $1,000 grant. Employees are encouraged to nominate organizations making a positive difference in the community. Funds received from this grant will help to purchase pediatric medical equipment used by EMT and first responders. Without funding from the grant, first responders would be using outdated equipment that is past the standard of operation.
