No one was hurt after a fire broke out at 12:10 p.m. July 19 in a two-story home at 2254 N. 73rd St. in Wauwatosa. Fire crews found light smoke coming from a bedroom on the second floor. The fire was extinguished within minutes of the crew’s arrival, according to a fire department press release. The cause of the fire is undetermined, but the fire appears to have started in the northwest corner of the upstairs bedroom. The fire does not appear to be suspicious, and the investigation has been closed by the Wauwatosa fire marshal. The initial damage to the property is estimated to be approximately $50,000, the release said. The Wauwatosa Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Milwaukee and West Allis fire departments. According to online tax records, the home is owned by Nathaniel K. Lynn.
