Officers with the Beloit Police Department are investigating a number of burglaries and an arson in Rock County. The burglaries occurred sometime between July 24 and July 25 in Beloit and the town of Turtle. One burglary occurred at Beloit College, at a utility shed on Church Street, according to a social media post by the department. Burglars took an orange-and-black, Kabota utility gas vehicle, gas cans and a lawn mower. The lawn mower was recovered in the 1000 block of Church Street, according to the post. Police believe the suspects then went to the Meri-J-Ranch on Colley Road. Police said a door was forced open and things were stolen.
