A 30-vehicle crash closed a section of Interstate 43 for hours Tuesday morning. Green Bay Police believe one crash triggered the pileup in the southbound lanes of I-43 on the Leo Frigo Bridge, formerly known as the Tower Drive Bridge, which crosses the Fox River. Video released by the state Department of Transportation shows a car spinning out over a patch of ice in the far right lane. The vehicles behind quickly try to move out of the way before losing control and sliding off to the sides. The collision was reported at 7:45 a.m. Green Bay Police says that the original call reported 60 vehicles involved in the crash. Officers were able to narrow that number down to 30 vehicles. Emergency responders closed the interstate in both directions to give emergency crews better access to the scene on the bridge. People were hurt in the crash, but there are no reports of severe injuries and no one died.
