Sports legends and Fond du Lac Firefighters Local 400 will face off on the basketball court to benefit the community Saturday. The game will begin at 5 p.m. at Fond du Lac High School, 801 Campus Drive, and feature Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue members, as well as a “former dunk contest competitor,” players from the Marian University basketball team and former Green Bay Packers, according a press release from Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue. Half-time entertainment will be provided by the Cardinal Skippers. Support from community businesses has allowed Fond du Lac Firefighters Local 400 to offer free admission to the game. Program books including photos will be sold, as well as raffle tickets. A percentage of all proceeds will be given to the Fond du Lac Firefighters Local 400 charitable fund to assist with donations and projects throughout the community. Started in 2000, the fund has since donated $300,000 to the community, with a focus put on programs connected to “fire prevention and education,” according to the press release
