Fox Lake Firefighters battle house fire

One man was taken to an area hospital for smoke inhalation following a house fire at 208 E. Cherry St. in Fox Lake on Thursday night. Fox Lake Fire Chief Aaron Paul said in an email that the Fox Lake Fire Department was paged to the house fire at 8:48 p.m. Upon arrival flames were coming out of two downstairs windows. The two downstairs rooms are a complete loss in the home, and there is severe smoke damage in the rest of the house, Paul said. Cause is under investigation at this time. Besides the man who was taken to the hospital, there was no one else injured in the fire. The Fox Lake Fire Department was assisted by Beaver Dam Fire Department, Horicon Fire Department, Randolph Fire Department, and Waupun Fire Department. Fox Lake Fire Department was on scene for about three hours.
