First responders rescued an injured construction worker from a site in Fitchburg Tuesday morning, officials said.
The Fitchburg Fire Department said firefighters and FitchRona EMS responded to a report at about 9:30 a.m. of an injured man.
A Dane County dispatcher said the incident was reported in the 5400 block of East Cheryl Parkway.
The worker had an injury to his lower leg, according to a news release. Paramedics began treating the man while Fitchburg fire personnel worked out the safest, most efficient way to lift the patient out of the sub-level area where he was located.
Technical rescue equipment, along with the help of an on-site crane, was used to lift the man to the ground level so he could be transported for further medical care, officials said.
