We all experience traumatic events at some point in our lives, whether it's the death of a loved one or something we've gone through personally. But how prepared are you to handle those situations? Captain Tyler Greenwood of the Baraboo Fire Department gave a talk at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse Friday to help people recognize the changes in your life after a trauma. Captain Greenwood knows first-hand about the struggles. He responded to a fatal car crash in 2013 that turned out to be his wife. "By understanding that it could be you, we start to open the door and start to have the discussion about what if it is you and what happens at that point in your life," said Greenwood. He shares his story with others in the hopes of helping them realize that it's OK to get better after a traumatic event and begin the healing process.
