Oak Creek has a new fire chief following the retirement of former Chief Tom Rosandich earlier this month.
Formerly an assistant fire chief, Michael Kressuk, Jr. has been appointed as the new chief for the Oak Creek Fire Department.
The city’s police and fire commission made the appointment at its Oct. 30 meeting.
Kressuk, who has been acting fire chief since Oct. 5, has over 25 years of experience with the department, beginning as a firefighter in November 1993, according to a release from the city. He’s been the assistant chief of administration since October 2012.
For many years, Kressuk has often attended city meetings advising the common council on any fire department concerns for upcoming developments or improvements within the city.
Kressuk has a Bachelor of Science in fire and safety engineering technology from the University of Cincinnati, according to his LinkedIn page.
In the release, Kressuk said he is thankful for the opportunity.
