The Menomonee Falls Police and Fire Commission has taken the first step toward hiring a fire chief, agreeing Nov. 11 to use an executive search firm to conduct the search.
Commissioners will choose one of two regional search firms: Public Administration Associates LLC of Osh Kosh or GovHRUSA of Northbrook, Illinois.
The village has not previously used an executive search firm to fill the fire chief position, according to Village Manager Mark Fitzgerald.
A timeline for when the search firm will be chosen has not been established.
Once the firm is chosen, it will take at least 90 days for the firm to provide the commission with candidates to select from, Fitzgerald said. Both firms have experience with fire chief searches, he said.
