Fire departments from four different counties battled a barn fire in Kiel Thursday night that also impacted a large machinery shed and two adjoining garages. Kiel Fire Department said in a news release Friday morning that no one was hurt in the fire at 10106 Rabe Road and no animals were inside the structures, which were used for the storage of vehicles and machinery. Firefighters were called to the scene at 11:28 p.m. and the release from Kiel Fire Department said the barn was fully engulfed in flames prior to the first unit arriving on scene. The release said the home at the address was also threatened by the fire, but no damage occurred to the home. Mutual aid was requested from the four counties because of “the size of the structures and the long distance to haul water,” the release said.
