PHOTO: Fire crews are still on scene of a fire at Deer Camp Bar and Pavilion in Shawano County. The building is on County Road K, which is also Waukechon Road, at the intersection with Porter Road, southeast of the city of Shawano. Firefighters tell us that it was a very large fire and started just after 5 this morning. As of 8:15 a.m. they were still putting out hot spots in the building. The bar had a one-unit apartment above it. Nobody was in the bar or the apartment at the time of the fire. Firefighters don't know where it started in the building or what caused the fire at this point. Several fire departments were on the scene this morning running back and forth with tenders of water to help put out the flames. Crews said they anticipated being on scene for several more hours. They have brought in an excavator to help tear apart the building.
