The pandemic didn’t stop Pepin County residents from seeing Santa this holiday season. The Durand City-Rural Fire Department hosted it’s annual “Ride Along with Santa”. Flanked by firefighters. Fire truck hosting the jolly old fellow cruised through the streets of Durand. The firefighters handed out candy canes to people along the route. They were able to do it safely after working the local health department. Both firefighters and parents were glad to deliver some normalcy during this abnormal year. Gina Dyess, Pepin County said, “It was nice to be able to come out and have them be able to do this during the covid pandemic and be able to do it socially distanced and provide some of that normal entertainment for the kids.”
