The La Crosse Fire Department is honoring one of their own.
Firefighter and EMS trainer, Franco Garritano, received the La Crosse Firefighter of the Year Award on Monday.
He’s being recognized for over 12 years of commitment to the department and community, but he says the department’s support is what pushes him to be his best. “I try my hardest on and off duty to reflect the values and morals of the department. I’ve been very fortunate to have great guidance and leadership within the agency itself and my peers,” Garritano said.
According to the people he works with, he’s a jack of all trades.
This is the 7th year the LCFD has given out this award.
