Officials say three people have been taken to a hospital after the car they were in crashed down an embankment during a police chase. The crash happened just after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on South Layton Boulevard near the Mitchell Park Domes. A fire official said the car went down an embankment just short of the bridge. It ended up smashed and on its side. Two people in the car were able to get themselves out. Firefighters rescued the other person. The three were conscious when they were taken to a hospital. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Police said the high-speed chase began in the 1600 block of West National Avenue when officers spotted a stolen car. The driver fled police and crashed. He was arrested after running from the crash scene.
