Three men were arrested Tuesday in connection with a house fire on Dixon Street. A 21-year old Appleton man, a 21-year-old Little Chute man and a 20-year-old Hollandtown man are suspected of breaking into the house early Monday morning and setting items on fire, according to Kaukauna police. Kaukauna fire and police were called to the abandoned home around 3:30 a.m. The fire caused about $55,000 in damage. According to police, the three men broke into the home and began destroying items that were left inside and lighting them on fire, including a mattress. At one point, two of the men left the house and the other fell asleep there. A little while later, the man who fell asleep woke up amid smoke and flames and left the house before first responders arrived. He was not injured. Police said a neighbor saw the house on fire and called 911.
