At 12:45 p.m. Monday, the Racine Fire Department was actively fighting a blaze on a two story home on the 2100 block of Clarence Avenue, just north of Washington Park Golf Course and west of the Root River.
The fire department initially responded to the fire around noon, when heavy flames could be seen coming from the home's kitchen windows. According to the fire department press release, the blaze was fought and under control in "just over an hour."
No injuries were reported and the property was released back to the home owner by 4 p.m. While the kitchen was found to be the origin of the fire, the cause is still under investigation.
